Is
Pole fitness® a trend or are there substantive aspects that lifts
the program above the trend level? What place can we give to Pole
fitness®?
In many training methods the concentric movement is most important,
in pole fitness there are also exocentric movements and static moments.
Especially these static moments (keeping the body in a certain position),
train the muscles for a number of seconds, where the dynamic movements
only last fractions of seconds, comparable in many ways with practising
gymnastics.
Gogo dancing can make a good contribution to
improving the overall endurance in a very entertaining way. The combination
of choreography and endurance training is certainly a contribution
in making Pole fitness® a complete training. The muscle groups
being trained in performing the pole techniques, are the arms (grip
strength and biceps/triceps) chest muscles, abdomen and back muscles,
quadriceps and adductoren. These muscle groups are trained on both
strength and strength endurance.
What makes pole fitness so special, is the large trainings volume,
the resultante of the number of repetitions x the "load"
x time.
Pole fitness® has a
special place compared to other fitness training over the last 30
years and not only because of the training apparatus.. It contributes
significantly to improving the overall endurance, trains a great variety
in muscle groups in a bilateral way (con- and exocentric as well as
static) both in strength as muscular endurance.

Introduction results in large
growth of members
Healthclubs that started with Pole fitness® groupclasses all were
faced with a new problem, queues of women wanting to join. This may
sound as a promotion slogan, and it is, but it's also true! That Pole
fitness® is not a short-term trend, but has taken a solid place
in the fitness industry, can be concluded from the fact the program
has run succesfully
over the last three years in clubs all over Holland. |

were not a member of All Sports. They all took a membership
for 12 lessons. Some of the girls have taken a full membership
once the course was over".
